About Us
What core values or beliefs define your company?
When I started my company I chose the name Dunham Service for two major reasons. First, I wanted the company to be a reflection of myself and my family, so it was important that the business name included something that pointed back to the family. Second, the purpose of the business is to service customers, employees, and the greater community in which we operate. Putting my name and our basic offering to customers together generated Dunham Service. Where our goal is that we personally provide the best HVAC repair service possible to our customers and community. Honesty, integrity, trust, knowledge, and excellence are all words I would like to hear others use when they describe the work that Dunham Service has completed for them.
What makes your company different/unique from the average HVAC company?
When I look at the company today, I believe what makes my HVAC company unique is the knowledge, education, and experience I bring to the table. With 20 years of industry experience including a bachelor’s degree in HVAC/R engineering, a masters in business administration, 10 years of residential and commercial experience, and 10 years in education, my company has the knowledge, skills, and ability to handle any HVAC-related projects, training customers on equipment operation, and developing new talent within employees to help them develop the best HVAC education available.
What is the story behind the company? Why did the company get started? Is there any significant story to be shared about the company's foundation or history?
After 10 years in education teaching HVAC, I felt lead to step out in faith and take what had been a part-time business that was used to provide supplemental income when no teaching, into a full-time job, which will grow into a business to support my family as well as the families of those employed by the company. The company was founded in a part-time capacity in 2021 and pivoted to a full-time business in July 2022. Looking back the first six months of 2022 laid the foundation that allowed the pivot from part-time to full-time. There were several things that fell into place to create a smooth transition.
Why should customers trust or choose you?
I am the third generation of my family to own a company in the HVAC industry. This type of family history instilled a sense of commitment to excellence and customer service. When I took my first job within the HVAC industry, my father left me with the parting words of, “Don’t hurt the Dunham Service name in the industry, or I’ll disown you.” While said with love and a little jest, the message was well received that the name and reputation was one of the most important assets a company has.

Owner - Matt Dunham, 21 years
Who is the owner? What is their story?
Dunham Service is owned and operated by Matt Dunham. Matt began his HVAC career in his early teens assisting his father by carrying tools and holding flashlights. During high school, he attended a vocational program to begin his formal education in the HVAC industry. After graduation from high school, Matt took a job with Frost Heating and Cooling out of Nashville, MI, and worked during the day while attending classes in the evenings. After finishing at Lansing Community College, Matt went on to complete his bachelor's degree in HVAC/R Engineering Technologies from Ferris State University. This led to a transition from the residential to the commercial HVAC industry where Matt worked for T.H. Eifert Mechanical designing, installing, and servicing building automation systems. During this time Matt took a part-time position teaching HVAC at LCC, which later opened the door to a full-time position in administration and ultimately teaching full-time in the HVAC program. In 2022 Matt followed God’s direction and stepped out in faith to pursue Dunham Service in a full-time capacity.
